To me, writing is a journey that's always surprising, sometimes a bit scary... but, more often than not, joyous. It's a journey I'm still taking. I invite you to sample my work published-so-far. My Stain-Busting mysteries are humorous cozies featuring laundress and stain-expert Josie Toadfern, cleaning up crime one hilarious load at a time. On Josie's page, I've included first chapters from all six of the Stain-Busting novels, Josie's stain tips, and the short stories that launched the series. My Electronic Gumshoe mysteries are PI novels featuring Patricia Delaney who uses computer research as well as personal snooping to solve her cases. On Patricia's page, you'll find more details about the series and, coming soon, first chapters from the novels in the series. I currently write Sanity Check, a weekly column about the humor of family life and life in general, for the Dayton Daily News, and have had the privilege of doing so since 2002. On Sanity Check's page, I've included several of my and my readers' favorite columns, on topics ranging from shredding pantyhose for stress relief to the day I realized I'd lost my lips. I'm also actively working on new projects... so I'm sure my journey will soon take me somewhere else new and surprising! Interested in pursuing your own writing path? Consider joining with a great community of writers at the Antioch Writers' Workshop, July 10-16, 2010. I'm honored to be the Director of the Antioch Writers' Workshop, as of January 2009. I first attended this unique workshop in 1990. Since then, I've been a speaker, faculty member and avid supporter of the workshop. I encourage you to find out more about the Antioch Writers' Workshop. With warm regards, Sharon Short
